Just type your message, optionally add a title, and press the “Post” button. Now, when you’re at your Mac and a whimsical thought comes to mind, you can press a system-wide shortcut to bring up this MarsEdit panel: For years I have heard repeatedly that the number-one reason people prefer writing to their blog with MarsEdit is that it “reduces friction.” It struck me that seizing on the opportunity to make writing to your blog “as easy as posting to Twitter” was a perfect opportunity to continue doing that. This got me thinking about MarsEdit’s role as a blogger’s best friend. He said something along the lines that a goal was to make it “as easy for writers at The Verge to publish short pieces as it would be to post them to Twitter. When I heard Nilay Patel of The Verge on The Talk Show a few months ago, I was struck by something he said about the recent redesign of The Verge. Moon cycle 20219/18/2023 Every two weeks, we have to look in the opposite direction to see the Moon, and the ground beneath our feet is then tilted the opposite way as well. The tilted ramp works the same as the tilted “platform” of the Earth beneath our feet. If you turn around, the horizon appears to tilt the opposite way. In front of you, the horizon looks higher on the right and lower on the left. Earth has a tilt of 23.5 degrees on its axis, which means that when we observe the Moon from Earth, it’s a little like we’re standing sideways on a ramp. Moon Lunar Phases Calendar 2021 - 2022 Mood Tracker For Jul 2021 to Jun 2022: Moon Phase Calendar Diary For 12 Months, Includes Lunar Phases Calendar. The tilt of the Moon’s orbit contributes to this, but it’s mostly due to the tilt of our Earth. We call this motion “libration in latitude.”įinally, the Moon appears to tilt back and forth like a metronome. The 5 degree tilt of the Moon’s orbit also causes it to appear to nod, as though it were saying “yes.” The tilt sometimes brings the Moon above Earth’s northern hemisphere, and sometimes below Earth’s southern hemisphere, allowing us to see slightly more of the northern or southern hemispheres of the Moon. We call this motion “libration in longitude.” When the Moon is farthest from Earth and orbiting at its slowest, its rotation gets a little ahead, and we see a bit more of its western side. When the Moon is at its closest to Earth and moving most quickly along its orbital path, the Moon itself doesn’t rotate quite fast enough to keep entirely the same side facing us, and we get to see a little more of the eastern side of the Moon. The Moon’s rate of rotation around its own axis, though, always stays the same. Learn about the types of full moons here.Because the Moon's orbit is not perfectly circular, its distance from Earth and its speed in orbit both change slightly throughout the month.Interested in learning more about the Moon? Use this tool to see the current Moon phase and to plan ahead for other Moon views. Here’s what the Moon looks like right now from Earth: However, because of how sunlight hits the Moon, it takes about 29.5 days to go from one new moon to the next new moon. It takes about 27.3 days for the Moon to orbit Earth. The Moon displays these eight phases one after the other as it moves through its cycle each month. At that point, the far side of the Moon is facing the Sun. (AP: Ben Birchall) The study which coincides with deadly downpours in Germany and Belgium forecasts 'dramatic increases' in the number of floods, as well as 'rapidly increasing high-tide floods' in the mid-2030s. Eventually, the Moon reaches a point in its orbit when we don’t see any of the Moon illuminated. When we have a full view of the completely illuminated side of the Moon, that phase is known as a full moon.īut following the night of each full moon, as the Moon orbits around Earth, we start to see less of the Moon lit by the Sun. On Earth, our view of the illuminated part of the Moon changes each night, depending on where the Moon is in its orbit, or path, around Earth. In this phase the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. This phase is best viewed just before the sunrise in the western sky. Low tide ona beach9/18/2023 Information on tides in the UK comes from the National Tidal and Sea Level Facility which was set up specifically to provide high-quality information on tides, sea levels, flood warnings and issues that affect navigation at sea. Who is Responsible for Gathering the Information on Tides? In some locations, the time of the tides moves along by well over an hour every day, whereas in others the tides may take place only a short time later every day. This is the same for every location in the UK, although the exact amount of time between tides will differ from place to place. For example, the following shows how the tide times move on every day in Blackpool in Lancashire.įrom this we can see how the exact times of high tide and low tide occur at a later time every day as the tide cycle progresses. Tides work in cycles and the exact time the high tide and low tide points occur changes every day. The UK has semi-diurnal tides, meaning there are two high tides and two low tides twice a day (some parts of the world have diurnal tides meaning there is only one high tide and one low tide each day). Tides are caused by the moon, sun and rotation of the earth working to cause sea levels to rise and fall. The ebbing tide at Monreith Beach, Dumfries and Galloway. Like many things in fishing, local knowledge is best when it comes to trying to understand how tides influence fishing at any particular mark. The problem with understanding tides is that there is so much regional variation between places, venues and marks that it is impossible to come up with any hard and fast rules over tides. Although anglers will never be able to fully predict the way fish react to the different tides, some understanding of how marks fish over different tides can increase catch rates dramatically and cut down on the number of blank fishing sessions. Some marks fish better on certain tides, whereas others are inaccessible or even dangerous at during some tides. The tide has a massive influence on sea fishing. Space saver treadmill9/18/2023 Compared to premium under-desk treadmills, the Goplus is a lot more affordable and ready for use with a standing desk. The Goplus 2-in-1 is made to be a folding walking treadmill with a max speed of 2.5 mph. The feature I like the most is the variable max speed between standing and folded positions. According to Goplus, the treadmill operates at less than 60 dB, which is equivalent to a conversation in a restaurant or an air conditioner at 100ft ( *). This treadmill is built for quietness to avoid bothering your officemates and neighbors. If you’re looking for an under desk treadmill, the Goplus 2-in-1 is your best option in this guide. The Goplus 2-in-1 Folding Treadmill is the only treadmill in my Top 5 that operates while folded. The cool thing is you can use the built-in speakers to listen to your fitness programs and TV shows. The tablet holder is a nice touch, especially if you plan to use on-demand fitness programs or watch your favorite shows while working out. Instead of Bluetooth, there are integrated speakers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack to connect your phone or other devices to push music through the speakers. A couple of drawbacks are the lack of Bluetooth and the 220-lb max weight capacity. The folded dimensions are also amazingly small, with just a 4.5″ height. Basically, there are two sets of wheels that allow you to roll the treadmill backward, forward, left, and right. Since the 8730G does weigh more than other models in my Top 5, the multi-directional transportation wheels are a nice added bonus. This is a unique feature that makes moving the treadmill easier than ever. What features set the 8730G apart from its competitors? One feature I really like is the multi-directional transportation wheels. If you like to jog and run at faster speeds, the 8730G and Xterra TR150 are your best bets. The 2.5 peak HP motor is more powerful than the smallest folding treadmills such as the Merax and Goplus models. Of all the treadmills in my Top 5, it’s built to last the longest and made with the highest quality parts and materials. The Asuna 8730G folding treadmill is the most premium and well-built model in my Top 5. If you’re still undecided now, I’m confident that by the end of the reviews you’ll know without a doubt which treadmill to pick for your space. In each review, I highlight the reasons why I chose these treadmills followed up by a list of pros and cons that I found reported in current info. Important features that I factored into my decisions were weight, folded dimensions, noise level, speed range, and functionality. Now that you’ve checked out the key ingredients and specs of the folding treadmills in my Top 5, let’s take a closer look at each of the five treadmills to help you decide which one suits your office, apartment, or home the best. Bottom Line Best Compact Folding Treadmill Reviews Texture packs for minecraft 1.18.29/17/2023 He is the creator of the Fresh Animations texture pack and is a real expert in Minecraft mob animations. Furthermore, you can download the “block.properties” file from the MediaFire folder, which overwrites parts of the SEUS PTGI shader.īy the way, the Patrix pack also features custom mob animation by FreshLX that adds additional tweaks to fit the models better. It also tells you how to disable an unwanted feature. In almost every pack is a text file that lists all features in detail. We list here the best features of the most important files that can be installed together with the required basic pack that adds all essential block textures/models. The project consists of several files, which you can download via MediaFire or Patreon. To be honest, it’s rarely been so much fun to push your computer to its performance limit. Additionally, the leaves adapt to the biomes and change color accordingly. For example, the leaves have a lot of details now and are rendered with a 3D effect. Both packs try to make Minecraft look like a next-gen game. Patrix HD reminds us a bit of NAPP, which you can also download for free from our website. SEUS is only suitable for high-end graphics cards, so you should look for an alternative on our website instead. The creator recommends using the SEUS PTGI shader, but you can use any shader if you don’t necessarily need ray-tracing graphics. Another noteworthy feature is that a single block can have several different textures, which gives your environment a constantly changing look and makes the gaming experience more exciting. Also, many of the blocks are connected to each other, thanks to OptiFine. We were amazed to see so many textures featured in the Patrix texture pack. One major difference between Patrix and other realistic texture packs is that almost every block and item is included. Your game may not run smoothly with the highest version, but that’s not uncommon with these textures, as most players experience lags. It’s best to start with the lowest version, test the FPS you get in Minecraft, and then gradually work your way up. The pack’s file size is quite large, with over 1GB, because Patrix textures are significantly heavier than other packs with the same resolution. To begin with, there are four different resolutions available, but it is recommended that you choose the best version with 256 pixels only if you have a supercomputer, as it requires a lot of RAM/VRAM to handle it. As a result, you’ll get a more realistic sky and have access to many more features.Today, we will present the Patrix texture pack, which is perhaps the best realistic pack available. Also, you’ll need to download Optifine 1.18.2 if you want to make your gameplay more realistic. Obviously, you can combine XRay with other textures to make the GUI look better, for example. You may also want to give yourself an advantage over opponents and instead download XRay 1.18.2, which gives you X-ray vision and can be used in survival mode and multiplayer. Most of these have a resolution of 4x, 8x or 16x. If you like to play PvP on Bedwars servers, you should choose a pack for 1.18.2 with FPS Boost. The features are explained in detail in the respective articles. However, there are differences between the Java Edition, MCPE and Bedrock Edition. 1.18.2 Texture Pack Listīelow this text section, you will find all projects that have free download links. They do that by adding realistic water, shadows and wind. The shaders take your game world to the next level. The same goes for the best Minecraft 1.18.2 shaders, which you can also download and install. Most developers have had enough time to update their projects in the meantime. This refers to the many Minecraft 1.18.2 texture packs that were not available at the official release of the Caves & Cliffs: Part 2 update. This minor game update offers you even more advantages. It’s best for all makers to use the Default resource pack as a template.Ĭheck out this article on the official Minecraft website for more information about 1.18.2. This does not apply to texture pack creators, who should definitely include the JSON file in their pack. It is unclear whether there will be corresponding gaming laws in other countries, such as the USA, in the future. The new notification is displayed after one hour and 24 hours for players from South Korea. As a result, you can now play with normal Minecraft chests during the Christmas season.įurthermore, there is a new JSON file in 1.18.2 texture packs that adds the new compliance requirements. A new feature is that ender chests look the same all year round and are no longer decorated for Christmas. However, it is advisable to always have all textures up to date, so you should definitely choose a pack from our list. There are only a few changes in Minecraft 1.18.2 texture packs compared to the 1.18.1 version. Hdx protools9/17/2023 Also, at this time, HDX and HD Native systems as well as DADman (MTRX and MTRX Studio) and the Video Engine are not supported on M1 Macs. However, as there are caveats with Carbon interfaces on M1 Macs running Big Sur 11.4, Avid encourages users to visit the compatibility pages linked below to ensure that your system and workflow are fully supported, before installing Pro Tools on an M1 Mac. Pro Tools | Carbon is supported on M1 Macs running macOS 11.3. Pro Tools | First, Pro Tools and Pro Tools Ultimate software are now supported with 2021.6 and all included Avid plugins are qualified to run through Rosetta 2. 2021.6 brings Big Sur support for M1 Macs via Rosetta 2. This simple button solves the issues associated with native systems and their inherent latency and the need to manage buffer settings against CPU load and the restrictions associated with a DSP workload.īig Sur support in Intel Macs has been available since Pro Tools 2021.3. This workflow was first made public with the release of Pro Tools Carbon and it works identically in HDX, though with potentially far more DSP available than in a Carbon system. Of course the most visible aspect of the Hybrid Engine is the ability to toggle DSP Mode on and off on any track, using the new green button, to enable low latency monitoring for these toggled tracks while it is required. Offload processing of individual tracks to DSP with a single button For post houses, which are running 3 card systems, the possibility now exists to break up those 3 card systems into individual 1 card systems and still run the same sessions on each system. The most demanding sessions, which used to require 3 card systems can now be run more comfortably on a single card system unless the additional IO capabilities of a multi card HDX system are necessary for you. This is largely down the the way having 2048 voices available extends the capabilities of a single card HDX system. The change the Hybrid Engine represents to HDX systems is so profound that Avid described it as almost a reimagining of the product. These changes represent an enormous improvement in HDX performance as reported by Jamey Scott in his recent article Pro Tools HDX Hybrid Engine - Is It Really A Game Changer? Using the Hybrid Engine uses fewer voices as there is less “round tripping” between the DSP and native domains, with its associated waste of voices and increase in latency. This is counter-intuitive as by moving the load from dedicated DSP to the native CPU the opposite might be expected but for reasons which can only be described as a little mysterious, this is not the case. CPU load is reduced, system delay is reduced so the system feels “snappier”, control surfaces feel more responsive and sessions feel faster. The Hybrid Engine maximises Pro Tools performance. The Pro Tools Hybrid Engine allows parts of the mixer, and therefore the audio paths and plugin processing, to exist in either DSP or Native and to be switched seamlessly between the two as and when the need arises. While it has always been possible to incorporate native processing into a DSP system, doing so was costly in terms of the voices used getting in and out of the DSP Pro Tools mixer used in an HDX system and the additional latency incurred. In previous iterations of Pro Tools, native and DSP processing were, to a significant degree, mutually exclusive. The HDX user base, many of whom have been concerned that their significant investment in HDX was nearing the end of its relevance, have just seen their hardware totally rejuvenated. It’s hard to overstate the significance of the Hybrid Engine For HDX users, bringing as it does a huge increase in voices and performance gains which are hard to believe. The Hybrid Engine has been covered extensively by us since we saw its first incarnation with Pro Tools Carbon and Francois Quereuil shared the news that it was coming to HDX in our interview with him. Unusually the first, and biggest feature of this release we already know a great deal about. HDX Hybrid Engine - Better Performance and near zero-latency recording with hybrid DSP and native processing If you’re in a hurry, here’s what’s new in a nutshell: While, because of the early announcements surrounding the HDX Hybrid Engine, there is an unusual amount about this release we already know, there are more surprises in this huge release which will please HDX, Native, Ultimate and Standard users alike. Today Avid Announced the release of the much anticipated Pro Tools 2021.6. With your hospital’s reputation constantly at stake, the temptations become more insidious. Slowly but surely, Theme Hospital starts encouraging petty acts of financially-motivated evil – like turning the heating down a few degrees to keep staff working harder, or installing a fizzy drinks vending machine instead of giving patients free drinking water. But playing Theme Hospital, I felt like I could run one anyway, if only I really wanted to.Īs you rise up the star ranks of hospital management, however, this cutesy-looking game takes a dark and satirical turn. And look, I’m under no illusions everyone can agree it would be completely catastrophic if I was placed in charge of a medical facility. Maybe it was the copious amount of painkillers in my system, but – for a fleeting second – I felt like I could improve the building’s ergonomic flow if only somebody would take a chance on me. A few years ago, after smashing my wrist to pieces in a ‘snowboarding accident’ (I had a board strapped to my foot at the time, so it counts even though I was technically standing still), I found myself feeling incredibly displeased by the A&E’s puzzling seat arrangements. To this day, I find it impossible to set foot in a hospital without wanting to plonk an extra bunch of houseplants next to the pharmacy, or longing for a nearby KitKat vending machine. At first, there’s something incredibly fulfilling about hovering your benevolent cursor over high-priority admissions and whisking them to the front of the queue, and conducting vital research into curing more complicated diseases like The Squits the whole hospital operating like a satisfyingly well-oiled machine. Initially, the goal of Theme Hospital is simple enough – players buy chairs for waiting rooms, hire a competent medical team, and build enough facilities to cure the local community of fictional ailments such as bloaty head, the uncommon cold, broken wind, and King Complex (a narcissistic condition which causes people to impersonate Elvis Presley). And out of the whole lot, Theme Hospital was the pinnacle – the perfect blend of dark humour and sheer silliness. Ruling over entire metropolises on SimCity gave me a giddying God complex, and tinkering to find the ideal recipe on Lemonade Stand was weirdly meditative. I’d spend hours shooting fictional feature films on studio management game The Movies, and painstakingly crafting death-defying rides for RollerCoaster Tycoon. Instead, I was obsessed with anything that mimicked real life. Surely games should be about escapism, not filling in endless patient risk assessments while a middle-manager called Sandra honks her coffee-breath down your neck? Given the choice between shooting at mutant aliens with a laser bazooka or running an efficient healthcare system in a business simulation game, you’d expect the space-adventuring to win out every single time. On paper at least, Theme Hospital feels like the most dreary concept imaginable. AuthorWrite something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview. ArchivesCategories |
